Sexism?

On every RSPS I've been on, guys have been douchebags to girls. They call them whores, shemales, guys, hes, its, and whatever they can think of to be a dick. What I want to know is why people do this.

People also hit on virtual girls, and it's kinda funny from where I stand. You don't even know what the girl looks like in real life. "She" could actually be a he. But is this why people are jerks to women?

Well, Honestly; Most guys think like "Wow, There's no way a girl would play RuneScape, Or a RuneScape Privateserver." So they flame at them and tell them they are guys and shit like that, Well in my opinion..Don't just flame, When you don't know. And, No. I've never flamed a girl like that, I couldn't care more or less about it. I'd rather stand up for that girl.

Well, first hand experience more often than not men flame women for just about anything and do so fairly harshly. In my opinion, I hold people like this to the same standard despite their gender... if they're going to make ignorant comments to a stranger over the internet then they're simply making up for whatever is bothering them, it's a cry for help.

Yeah, my sister used to play private servers along with me. She quit because of people flaming her, it's not that she cried over people on the internet, she was just annoyed with the ignorance she gets from everyone. And Tony, I'd stand up for someone like that too. If people flame some random person, I defenitely stand up for them, no matter what gender.

To me, people have so many problems in real life, even people who are nice can be completely different from what they are like in real life. I have a lot of problems going on myself, and I'm oblivious to all negativity in-game, as long as it doesn't harm players or the server itself. Nobody would even know that I have autism if I didn't care to say.

But on topic, it's really immature when people flame a "girl" about being, well, a "girl." It's not a rule to be a guy to play this game. Plus, girls that play games are amazing

If you're going to flame a girl for just being a girl then yes it's wrong, but if it's just a random act of hate on a girl I don't see any difference with a male, There's World-wide acts of women trying to make them self complete equals to men, Sexism in itself is a contradiction, I would flame a male as much as a female if they did something looked down upon, if they want to be equal then they shouldn't be treated like their special, I know some of this wouldn't apply in real life because males are more likely to get violent rather than keeping it verbal with another male, but as for the internet I think you should flame someone regardless of gender if they do something deserving it.
